Eric Cotter, BS

Eric is a sports medicine research fellow for Drs. Yanke and Cole at Midwest Orthopaedics at RUSH. He is originally from a small town in Wisconsin called De Pere. Eric graduated from Marquette University with a BS in Biomedical Sciences, and is currently attending medical school at the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. Eric has been actively involved in research since his time at Marquette where he worked for 4 years in a neuroscience research lab studying the biochemical and behavioral changes associated with drug addiction. He continued his passion for research during medical school where he was selected as a MedStar Summer Research Fellow in Interventional Cardiology. He has presented his research in both cardiology and orthopaedics at numerous national conferences including the American Academy of Cardiology and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons annual meetings. His current research interests include clinical outcomes of shoulder and knee surgery, patients’ expectations and satisfaction with orthopaedic care, and the roles of biologics in orthopaedics. Eric aspires to be an academic orthopaedic surgeon involved in patient care, resident training, and research.
